Sam is a New Bridge Champion: here he is volunteering at Oldham Library
New Bridge Group manages a family of innovative specialist centres in Oldham, serving young people (4 – 19) with needs ranging from moderate impairments to profound, multiple learning difficulties and neurodivergent conditions. Its inspirational ethos – “Learning together, learning for all, learning for life,” – focuses on equipping each young person with the skills and confidence to play a full part in their communities – as volunteers, young entrepreneurs and more.
Fundraising activity has previously been restricted, out of a desire to assure dignity and respect for every young person. Together, alongside these young people, we are carefully building a programme that is creating the new facilities/opportunities they want to enjoy.
Working with Anna is a truly collaborative and rewarding process. Anna has an incredible ability to capture our ideas and ambitions through discussion and turn them into fully formed strategic plans, before matching our needs to appropriate funders and supporting us in the writing of funding applications. We’ve had many successful outcomes from our work together, that have positively impacted the lives and opportunities for our children, young people and their families.
